Words are the medium for us to express our concepts about the world and our feelings. They are one important way in which we communicate externally with others, and with ourselves through our inner dialogue.
Words are so intrinsic to our lives and our society that often we just take them for granted – a bit like breathing. But words, as we all know, have tremendous power to influence. The ‘right words’ at the right time have great potential to inspire us for good. In the same way, the wrong words can have dramatic impact – from the cursory hurtful remark to the dark side of propaganda which can fuel hatred and physical violence.
As you’d expect, The Way of Wise Words is a thought-provoking selection of both ancient and the modern wisdom, from giant intellectuals to the person in the street. The words are here to challenge you and to uplift you. There are four sections to choose from:
